Funding & Ambition

This multi-year initiative is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers and co-funded by the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme, reflecting the strong commitment of Nordic–Baltic partners to accelerate the green transition, promote resilient urban development and deepen long-term cooperation with Türkiye. As stated in the project proposal, “The NEP grant is essential to enable a coordinated Nordic–Baltic presence, strengthen our visibility, and ensure that pioneering solutions and values are represented in Türkiye’s climate transformation ahead of COP31.”

Multi-Stakeholder Bridge

The project brings together government institutions, municipalities, companies, universities, research centres and international organisations to highlight Nordic–Baltic expertise in energy efficiency, district heating, circular economy, eco-design, water resilience, climate adaptation and sustainable mobility. Through workshops, flagship events, digital outreach, podcasts and a high-level forum, the platform aims to create a durable cooperation ecosystem and generate concrete partnership outcomes such as Letters of Intent, MoUs and joint project pipelines.

Long-Term Vision

Ultimately, the Nordic–Baltic Climate Cooperation in Türkiye seeks to build a long-term climate technology platform for 2027–2030, strengthening collaboration between Nordic–Baltic and Turkish stakeholders and contributing to the shared vision of green, resilient and competitive cities. The project proposal emphasises this long-term ambition: “This project purposes to establish a Nordic–Baltic Climate Technology Platform that strengthens cooperation among Nordic–Baltic partners in Türkiye, focusing on green and resilient cities.”
